‘Devastated’ star forced to cancel performance at last minute as fans left gutted

A star’s last-minute cancellation left fans feeling ‘devastated’ after waiting in pouring rain at Margam Country Park in Neath Port Talbot. Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot was scheduled to perform at the family event named ‘Solo live presents Cian Ducrot at Margam Castle’ on Friday evening. The event, which featured other performers like ADMT, Lovely Laura, and Ben Santiago, aimed to be a “truly special evening.

However, when it was time for the main act, attendees were informed that Cian Ducrot could not perform due to unsafe stage conditions caused by adverse weather. Concertgoers expressed disappointment, with some criticising the event’s organisation. Cian Ducrot, apologising for the cancellation, shared his devastation over the situation.

The cancellation follows a week of challenging weather in Wales, including the cancellation of rock band New Order’s Cardiff Bay show due to poor weather. A concertgoer, Damien Jenkins, shared his family’s experience of waiting in the rain from 5 pm until 10 pm, only to be informed about the cancellation abruptly.

Fellow attendee Sian Bolding also voiced her disappointment, highlighting issues with stage equipment and communication during the event. Cian Ducrot took to social media to address the cancellation, citing safety concerns due to the weather conditions.

Organisers Solo Presents expressed their sadness over the cancellation and pledged updates for ticket holders. They explained that despite efforts to manage the weather challenges, technical issues arose during the changeover to Cian Ducrot’s set, leading to the cancellation for safety reasons.

The incident at Margam Country Park adds to a list of recent weather-related disruptions to events. The community awaits further developments and potential refunds as organisers work to address the situation.
