A drug dealer who made a daring escape from police custody, only to later hand himself in, has been ordered to pay back £5,000 following a court hearing. Daniel Williams, aged 30, found himself in hot water after he was stopped by police in Abercynon. The authorities had their suspicions aroused when they noticed a white car pulling into a known drug dealing area. Upon further investigation, police found cocaine, cannabis, and over £4,000 in cash in Williams’ possession.
Williams, along with another individual, was subjected to a search which led to the discovery of drugs and cash. Additionally, police uncovered a significant amount of cash stored in safes at Williams’ residence. Despite being apprehended and placed inside a police vehicle, Williams managed to flee from custody, sparking a massive search operation involving helicopters and police dog units. However, after four hours, he voluntarily surrendered at the Merthyr Tydfil police station, still wearing handcuffs from his initial arrest.
