A tragic incident unfolded in Cardiff’s Trowbridge area as a daughter found her parents and their pet dog dead in their home. The discoveries were made after a concerned neighbour raised the alarm. South Wales Police responded to the call at Morfa Crescent on Saturday, October 5 around 2.50pm and have since been investigating the sudden deaths. A cordon has been set up around the property, where two bodies were found, along with a recovered rifle. Though formal identification is pending, authorities believe the deceased to be a 72-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man.
Neighbours shared their shock and sadness at the news, highlighting the couple’s warm personalities and camaraderie within their community. Described as “wonderful people” and “good neighbours and really good friends,” the deceased couple left a positive impact on those around them. The daughter, who made the grim discovery, was reached out to by concerned neighbours after they noticed unusual signs at the house.
Detective Chief Inspector Lianne Rees from South Wales Police expressed that detailed investigations are underway to uncover the events leading to the tragedy. Post-mortem examinations are anticipated to shed light on the cause of death. At present, authorities do not suspect the involvement of any other individuals in the incident.
