One of the most sought-after drinks at Cheltenham is Guinness, with an estimated 265,000 pints of the stout expected to be consumed during the event. However, attendees will need to shell out £7.80 for a pint of Guinness this year, up from £7.50 in the previous year. Similarly, a pint of Doom Bar and a can of premium lager will also cost punters £7.80 and £7.40, respectively. For those opting to stay sober, a pint of Guinness 0.0 or alcohol-free lager will be priced at £7.40 and £4, respectively.

When it comes to spirits, prices start from £7.20 for a 25ml measure, marking a 20p increase from last year. Additionally, a 187ml glass of house wine will set you back £9.70, maintaining the same price as before. Managing director Ian Renton explained the rationale behind the price adjustments, emphasizing the festival’s commitment to providing a premium experience while ensuring value for attendees amidst rising living costs.

Renton stated, “We understand that when people are paying to attend premium events, they expect a premium experience. That has been at the forefront of our minds as we invest in improving various aspects of the festival to enhance our guests’ experience.” He also highlighted the importance of listening to racegoers’ feedback to elevate the overall festival experience and exceed expectations.

As Cheltenham Festival attendees prepare to sip on their favourite beverages, they can expect to pay the following prices for drinks:
– Guinness pint £7.80, half £3.90
– Guinness 0.0 pint £7.40, half £3.70
– Premium lager pint £7.40
– Alcohol-free lager pint £4
– Doom Bar pint £7.80
– Various spirits ranging from £7.20 to £7.30
– House white/red/rose £9.70
– Soft drinks £3.10
– Mixers £2.70
– Water – still/sparkling £2.50

As the anticipation builds for the Cheltenham Festival, racegoers can look forward to immersing themselves in the excitement of the event while enjoying a selection of beverages to suit their preferences. While the slight increase in drink prices may require attendees to adjust their budgets accordingly, the promise of a premium experience and memorable moments at the festival continues to be the driving force behind the preparations for this year’s event.
