Body found after air and land search for missing 56-year-old

A body has been discovered in the search for a missing man after a major search effort that included the police helicopter and mountain rescue team. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed the finding on Thursday afternoon. The 56-year-old man, identified as Geraint, was reported missing from his home on Cradoc Road in Brecon. He was last seen walking towards Brecon town on Monday, September 30, at 9.15am, wearing a red rugby top, blue jeans, red cap, black jacket, and white shoes with red accents.

Authorities had urged the public to check outbuildings and review any CCTV footage that might have captured Geraint since his disappearance. Despite the discovery, formal identification of the body has not yet taken place. The police have notified Geraint’s family, expressing their condolences during this difficult time.

In a statement, Dyfed-Powys Police stated, “We can confirm that a body has been found this afternoon, Thursday, October 3, during the search for Geraint, who had been reported missing from the Brecon area. Formal identification has not yet taken place; however, Geraint’s family has been informed of this development. Our thoughts remain with the family at this difficult time.”
