The funeral of Bebe King, the six-year-old youngest victim of the Southport stabbings, has taken place. Bebe tragically lost her life in a mass stabbing alongside two other young victims after a Taylor Swift-themed dance event on July 29. Her family requested a private funeral, where Bebe’s parents, Lauren and Ben King, remembered their daughter as a joyful and loving soul. Bebe’s older sister, Genie, who witnessed the attack and managed to escape, was praised for her bravery.
MP Patrick Hurley encouraged people to light candles in Bebe’s memory during her funeral. Axel Rudakubana, 18, has been charged with the murder of the three girls and the attempted murder of others at the Hart Space in Southport. The incident has sparked nationwide disorder. Bebe’s family, along with the community, are mourning the loss of the young girl, whose bright spirit will always be remembered by those who knew her.
