BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Motsi Mabuse addresses pro’s exit as she says ‘I miss them’

Strictly Come Dancing’s Motsi Mabuse recently shared her emotions about missing professional dancer Oti Mabuse during a conversation on Loose Women. This discussion took place on Friday prior to the show’s live broadcast over the weekend. Despite the absence of some familiar professional dancers, including her sister Oti who departed from Strictly in 2022, Motsi expressed her excitement for the competition with the new pairings of celebrities and dancers.

Motsi revealed to Denise Welch that she feels the absence of her sister, expressing: “I do miss her because there’s that silent connection when your sister is there.” She reminisced about the comfort she felt from Oti’s presence, particularly when she first arrived in the UK from Germany. Motsi explained, “You have to imagine I came from Germany to a whole close-knit family and I’m the new one, so just seeing her I felt like, ‘Ok, everything is going to be ok.'”

When asked by Judi Love about how they stay connected despite their busy schedules, Motsi shared that they are in constant communication through various means like social media and phone calls, maintaining a strong bond. She also mentioned that as the elder sister, she respects Oti’s space as a new parent, as Oti recently became a mother.

The Strictly judge emphasized the importance of their sisterly bond, quoting their father’s advice to stick together no matter what. Although Oti will not be returning to the BBC dance show this year, fans welcomed the news that Aljaz Skorjanec is making a comeback. Aljaz, who left the show in the same year as Oti after joining in 2013, will once again compete for the glitterball trophy, partnering with Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri this season.

Tasha expressed her excitement about dancing with Aljaz, highlighting their great rapport and energy levels matching. She shared, “I am absolutely ecstatic! He’s so fun – chaos, but I love a bit of chaos energy. Honestly, we mesh so well, and I’m so excited. He’s already teaching me little moves, and I’m trying to keep up, but I’ve got a very good one here.”

The first live show of Strictly Come Dancing is set to air on BBC One on Saturday, September 21 at 7pm, promising an evening filled with glamour, excitement, and dancing extravaganza for viewers to enjoy.
