The nominations for the upcoming BAFTA Cymru Awards have been unveiled, celebrating outstanding talent in film and television across Wales. Scheduled to take place in Newport at the ICCW in October, the awards ceremony will feature 21 categories up for recognition. The top contenders for nominations include:
– Men Up – Six nominations
– Doctor Who, Pren Ar Y Bryn, and Steeltown Murders – Five nominations each
– Wolf – Four nominations
– Documentary Siân Phillips Yn 90 – Three nominations
– Feature film Chuck Chuck Baby and Rhod Gilbert’s A Pain In the Neck – Two nominations each.

The performance categories highlight four first-time nominees for BAFTA Cymru, including Aimee-Ffion Edwards for Dreamland, Alexandra Roach for Men Up, Ncuti Gatwa for Doctor Who, and Philip Glenister for Steeltown Murders. Other first-time nominees cover different categories such as director, writer, and presenter. The Chair of BAFTA Cymru, Angharad Mair, congratulated this year’s nominees for their exceptional work on and off-screen, showcasing remarkable creativity and skill across a diverse range of projects.
