Work on the Fairwater Campus, a £108 million project encompassing Cantonian High and other schools, is due to recommence following a temporary halt caused by the original contractor’s administration. The campus, featuring state-of-the-art facilities for three schools, is now anticipated to open in 2027, slightly later than initially projected.

In Splott, construction has commenced on a new £60 million school building for Willows High, with completion expected in the 2026-27 academic year. The modern facility will offer amenities such as a sports hall, gym, drama studio, and grass pitches for public use outside of school hours, accommodating 900 learners aged 11 to 16.

These initiatives reflect Cardiff Council’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and providing quality learning environments for students in the city. With a focus on sustainability and community engagement, the new school buildings aim to cater to evolving educational needs and promote academic excellence in Cardiff.
