Air ambulance lands at scene as diver suffers ‘blackout’ off Welsh coast

An air ambulance was summoned to the scene near Anglesey after a diver encountered a medical emergency while underwater off the Welsh coast. In a Facebook post, Phoenix Watersports detailed the incident, stating, “We had a diving incident over the weekend.” The post continued, “A diver had a medical emergency underwater (none diving related) and had an underwater blackout/seizure. Firstly the best news – the diver is absolutely fine, and was discharged from hospital the same day.” The post lauded the quick actions of the team members and commended their professionalism in handling the situation both underwater and on the surface. It particularly highlighted the rapid response of the emergency services, including the Wales Air Ambulance Charity, and the team’s preparedness with first aid equipment.
