Adam Peaty’s 8000-calorie Olympic diet after Strictly star announces engagement to Holly Ramsay

Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, known for his outstanding athletic achievements, has recently made headlines not only for his engagement to Holly Ramsay but also for his phenomenal performance at the Paris Olympics. Despite narrowly missing out on a third consecutive gold in the 100m breaststroke, Peaty managed to secure a silver medal, adding to his collection of Olympic golds from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, along with other prestigious medals. The 29-year-old, hailing from Uttoxeter, is a world record holder in the 100m breaststroke and is celebrated for his unique physical attributes that make him excel in swimming.

Standing at 6ft 3ins with large hands and feet, as well as hyper-mobile knees and ankles, Peaty’s physique is optimally suited for his sport. His rigorous training demands a massive intake of calories and nutrients to sustain his performance levels. Recognised for his towering height and weight of 14st 9lbs (95KG), Peaty consumes an impressive 8000 calories a day to fuel his training regimen. His diet consists of high-protein granola with soya milk for breakfast, followed by Greek yoghurt and raisins, providing him with the necessary energy for strenuous morning sessions.

Throughout the day, Peaty snacks on protein bars and bananas with peanut butter to maintain his energy levels. He incorporates staples like chicken, rice, vegetables, sweet potato, fish, wholemeal toast, and protein shakes into his meals to ensure he has the necessary protein and calories to support his training. Peaty is diligent about hydration, consuming approximately five litres of water daily, along with a caffeine shot before races or training sessions.

For dinner, Peaty focuses on consuming a balanced meal before 7pm, typically preparing whole grain rice with seaweed, salmon, prawns, and an assortment of vegetables such as asparagus and broccoli. Oily fish like salmon is essential for heart health and maintaining overall well-being, while seaweed provides numerous health benefits including support for heart and gut health, immune function, and blood sugar regulation. Peaty’s commitment to his nutrition regimen underscores the dedication and discipline required to achieve success at the highest levels of athletic competition.
