Michael Jackson’s older brother Tito has died, aged 70

Tito Jackson, the older brother of the late pop star Michael Jackson and a member of The Jackson 5, has passed away at the age of 70, as confirmed by his sons. Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson on October 15, 1953, Tito was a renowned American singer, guitarist, and part of the famous Jackson family. He gained fame as one of the original members of The Jackson 5, a group that rose to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s with hits such as “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There.”

While Tito may not have enjoyed the same level of solo success as his brothers Michael and Jermaine, he played a pivotal role as the band’s lead guitarist. Even after The Jackson 5 departed from Motown Records in 1975, Tito continued to perform with his siblings in different iterations of the group, including The Jacksons.

In his later years, Tito ventured into a solo music career, exploring the blues genre and releasing his debut solo album, “Tito Time,” in 2016. Apart from his musical endeavours, Tito remained a familiar face on reality TV and various Jackson family projects. He was also the proud father of three sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson, who formed the music group 3T.

Tito’s legacy as a talented musician and integral part of The Jackson 5 will be remembered by fans worldwide. His contributions to the music industry and his family’s enduring musical dynasty have left an indelible mark that will resonate for generations to come. Tito Jackson’s passing marks the end of an era, but his music and memory will live on in the hearts of many who were touched by his artistry and presence.
