Met Office issues weather warning for part of Wales

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for parts of Wales bordering the north-west of England, specifically areas around Wrexham. The warning is for potentially dense fog expected from 5 am to 10 am on Monday, September 16. This alert comes as the Met Office forecasts widespread mist and patchy fog overnight for Wales, along with rain across central and southern areas.

Monday is anticipated to start as a misty morning for many across Wales. However, a more disruptive fog warning covers the Wrexham area, as well as parts of Shropshire and the region between Manchester and Liverpool. The Met Office highlighted that this could be one of the first instances in autumn 2024 where more widespread fog develops overnight and persists well into the morning, with some potentially dense fog leading to longer journey times.

Drivers are advised to check road conditions, allow extra travel time, and ensure fog lights are functioning before setting off. Additionally, bus and train services, flights, and ferry travel may also be impacted, so travellers are urged to stay updated with their travel providers’ advice.

It is essential to be prepared for potential delays and adjust plans accordingly. Stay informed, stay safe, and follow the latest weather updates to navigate through any disruptions caused by the foggy conditions.
