Gordon Ramsay Struggles After Bike Accident
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay recently revealed that he had to rely on his assistant to help him dress after a serious bike accident earlier this year. The 57-year-old presenter and restaurant owner expressed gratitude for surviving the cycling incident in Connecticut, where his clothes were torn, and his helmet was crushed. Ramsay shared his experience in an interview with Men’s Health UK, where he disclosed, “I couldn’t even put my f****** socks and pants on. Justin [Mandel, his assistant], he used to dress me in the morning. I felt like a f****** 95-year-old man.”
Ramsay, known for shows like Kitchen Nightmares, emphasized his determination to continue working despite the accident and his professional and personal responsibilities. He asserted, “I could sit back, put my feet up, buy a boat and f*** off to the Caribbean, but I have no interest in that. I love the jeopardy, and I can do that because I’m fit. I can do that because I’ve got the drive.”
After the June accident, Ramsay credited his helmet for potentially saving his life and commended the medical team at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London for their care. In a social media post following the incident, he urged others to prioritize safety when cycling, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets. Ramsay encouraged, “You’ve got to wear helmets. I’m lucky to be standing here. I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week. And I’m sort of getting through it.”
