Spoons Slashes Breakfast Prices to £2.79

UK pub chain Wetherspoon has recently reduced the cost of its breakfast offerings to an affordable £2.79, making it a budget-friendly option for customers. Journalist Lynette Pinchess decided to give it a try to see if the quality matched the low price.

  • The breakfast is now cheaper than a cup of coffee in most high street establishments.
  • Prices range from £2.25 to £2.99, depending on the location of the Wetherspoon pub.
  • Breakfast options include a small cooked breakfast, tea and toast for £2.49, and a breakfast muffin deal for £3.99, all available from 8am to noon.

Lynette found that the breakfast, although not a gourmet meal, was served promptly within four minutes. Despite not being a culinary masterpiece, the offering was satisfactory for the price point.

“For £2.79, you get a plate with a fried egg, one rasher of bacon, a Lincolnshire sausage, a hash brown, and baked beans. It may not be a fancy dish, but it’s a decent plate of hot food,”

Lynette remarked.

According to Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon, the price reduction aims to provide customers with quality breakfast options without breaking the bank. He emphasized the chain’s commitment to offering value for money to its customers.

  • Additional options aside from the regular breakfast include small veggie and vegan breakfasts, as well as the ‘Freedom’ breakfast with two fried eggs, bacon, baked beans, mushroom, and tomato.
  • Customers can also enjoy a refill of coffee for £1.25 after their meal.

Overall, the price drop on breakfast items at Wetherspoon offers customers an affordable and convenient dining option without compromising on quality or taste. The initiative is part of the chain’s ongoing efforts to provide value to its patrons.
