Huge Cannabis Farm Discovered in Welsh Town Centre Worth £450,000

A significant cannabis farm with over 580 plants valued at more than £450,000 was unearthed in a Welsh town. Dyfed-Powys Police conducted raids at the old Savers and County Times buildings in Welshpool on September 2 and 3. A 31-year-old man has been charged with cultivating cannabis and is set to appear at Wrexham Magistrates Court on September 4. Another individual, aged 27, was apprehended on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and is currently in police custody. The sites were described as “sophisticated set-ups” where officers discovered a variety of items including large knives, electronic devices, plants, and growing equipment.

“This was a very successful operation, which saw excellent joint working between a number of departments within Dyfed-Powys Police. We are committed to making our force area hostile to those who deal illegal drugs, and our work over the two days has seen a significant amount of cannabis taken out of the supply chain,”
