Exact Time Downpours Set to Arrive in Wales Amid Met Office Weather Warning

Some parts of the UK are at risk for flooding and other disruptions due to heavy rain, the Met Office warned. Brits are being urged to take caution as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain over the next few days. Parts of the UK are at risk of flooding, the weather and climate service said, with Thursday set to bring “extensive” heavy rain.

  • The bad weather is due to start tonight, impacting mainly the south of England and south of Wales.
  • Affected areas will include the south west and south east of England, London, Bristol, Cardiff, Pembrokeshire, and Carmarthenshire.
  • It is predicted the heavy rain will start in those areas at around 9pm tonight (September 4) and continue throughout Thursday.
  • The heavy rain is also expected to continue all day on Friday until midnight.

The Met Office warned that the heavy rain may lead to travel disruptions, flooding, and potentially dangerous conditions. By Friday, it is expected that the rain will be even heavier, with some areas experiencing power cuts and loss of services to homes and businesses.

  • On Friday, some communities might become cut off by flooded roads
  • There is a possibility of fast-flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life

To keep yourself and your property safe, the Met Office recommended checking if your property could be at risk of flooding, preparing a flood plan and emergency flood kit, checking road conditions, and staying up to date with weather forecasts.

By Saturday, parts of the UK will experience high temperatures of up to 25C, with different regions expecting partly sunny and partly cloudy conditions. In Greater London, highs of 25C are predicted, while Cardiff and Bristol are expecting highs of 22C and 23C, respectively.

The Met Office advised the public to stay informed, prepared, and cautious during this period of challenging weather conditions in Wales and across the UK.
