Alleged Murder Victim Found Dead by Police at Property
An inquest has been opened following the death of Victoria Thomas, who was found dead at a house in Cardiff. Known as “Vicki,” the much-loved Ms. Thomas passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, August 20. The incident took place at an address on Caerphilly Road, where officers from the South Wales Police received a report around 12:30 am that a female had been assaulted.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Ms. Thomas’s partner upstairs, while paramedics attempted to treat her for injuries to her neck. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save her, Ms. Thomas, aged 45, was declared deceased at 12:48 am.
- The inquest revealed that a postmortem examination conducted by Dr. Stephen Leadbeatter at the Princess Of Wales Hospital on August 21, 2024, identified the provisional cause of death as “1A pressure on neck.”

Alcwyn Thomas, 44, appeared in Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on August 23, facing a charge of murder. The case has been adjourned for a later hearing at Cardiff Crown Court.
