Oasis resale site Twickets makes gesture to fans after ticket price drama

Official resale site Twickets has responded to the recent ticket price drama surrounding the Oasis reunion tour by reducing its fees. Fans were left disappointed and outraged after struggling to secure tickets through Ticketmaster, only to find inflated prices on the resale market. Twickets, known for offering tickets at face value, faced criticism for adding significant fees on top of ticket prices.

With standing tickets originally priced at £150 skyrocketing to £356.80, fans voiced their frustration over the surge pricing tactics. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has announced plans to investigate such practices in the secondary gig sales market. In a bid to alleviate the financial burden on fans, Twickets has decided to slash its fees and cap them at £25 per ticket for Oasis events. Additionally, fans who previously purchased tickets with higher fees will receive refunds for the difference.

Richard Davies, the founder of Twickets, emphasised their commitment to providing a fair platform for fans to buy and sell tickets. Notably, Twickets has partnered with various artists and venues to combat inflated prices and unethical resale practices. By reducing booking fees and capping charges, Twickets aims to maintain competitiveness against other resale platforms while ensuring affordability for fans.

Moving forward, fans can access resale tickets for the Oasis tour through Ticketmaster and Twickets. It is important to note that only these official resale sites are supported by Oasis’ management. Twickets reiterated the importance of purchasing tickets at face value through authorised channels to avoid counterfeit or void tickets. This proactive step by Twickets highlights their dedication to prioritising fans’ interests and promoting a transparent ticket marketplace.
