A drug dealer was apprehended with a stash of MDMA, cocaine, and ketamine by a sniffer dog at a warehouse venue in Cardiff. Kian Morgan-Brew, aged 21, was caught with drugs valued between £300 to £600 at the DEPOT venue on May 23 last year. Initially denying carrying drugs, he was eventually found with 23 concealed bags of substances in his clothing, including cocaine, ketamine, and MDMA in crystalline and tablet form.
At a sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court, Morgan-Brew, residing in Church Avenue, Boverton, Llantwit Major, admitted to possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, as well as possession of a class A drug. His defence counsel, Sol Hartley, stated that Morgan-Brew was supplying drugs to friends to support his own drug use. The court learned that he started using cannabis at the age of nine but desires to turn away from drugs for the sake of his young child.
During sentencing, Judge Lucy Crowther noted that despite Morgan-Brew’s struggles with ADHD, he persisted with drug use and rejected prescribed medication. The defendant was given a suspended 24-month prison sentence, along with a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work to complete.
