Police were called to a Jet2 flight at Manchester Airport on Thursday, August 29, after ‘disruption’ onboard caused significant delays. The LS921 service heading to Dalaman, Turkey, was held up for more than two hours as officers dealt with an incident involving passengers. Social media images showed multiple police officers onboard, with other travellers capturing the unfolding events on their smartphones. The disruptive individual was eventually removed by police after the aircraft had to return to its stand from the taxiway.
Jet2 expressed gratitude to the police and cabin crew for their handling of the situation and apologised to the remaining passengers for the inconvenience. Originally scheduled for a 4.15pm departure, the flight finally took off at 6.30pm. The airline emphasised its zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behaviour on its flights. A Jet2 spokesperson stated, “As a family-friendly airline, we take a zero tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour.”
Greater Manchester Police have been approached for further information on the incident. Jet2’s response to the disruption highlights the importance of maintaining safety and order onboard flights.
