A woman in Wales has shared her incredible weight loss journey, having shed nearly seven stone after struggling with a poor diet that left her unable to cope with the challenges of motherhood. Heather Powell, 49, reached a maximum weight of 21st 10lb due to years of consuming crisps and takeaways, which left her feeling too fatigued to engage in physical activities. Heather, a foot health practitioner, revealed that during her pregnancy in 2013, she developed symphysis pubis dysfunction, causing excruciating pain that led to her being on crutches and unable to work. This forced her to spend most of her time sitting and overeating, resulting in significant weight gain.
As Heather’s weight increased, her confidence plummeted, and she struggled with various health issues, including fibromyalgia, postnatal depression, and irritable bowel syndrome. The stress of caring for her son, who had complex needs, further exacerbated her situation. Heather spent a decade as a recluse, only leaving her house for essential tasks due to her physical limitations and emotional struggles.
