Kate Middleton has made a surprise public appearance at Crathie Kirk, marking a significant milestone as it is her first sighting there since revealing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. The Princess of Wales was accompanied by Prince William as they joined King Charles and Queen Camilla at the church in Scotland on Sunday, August 25.
Having disclosed her cancer diagnosis following abdominal surgery, the 42-year-old princess has kept a low profile and limited her public appearances, requesting privacy for herself and her family. Kate wore a light brown outfit with a feather hat, while William donned a navy suit for the church service.
Renowned body language expert, Judi James, noted that Kate appeared cheerful and engaged during the outing, displaying animated and relaxed behaviour. The couple, along with King Charles and Queen Camilla, attended the service at Crathie Church near Balmoral in Scotland. Prince George was also seen in the back seat of the vehicle during the outing.
This public appearance is significant given Kate’s health situation and her recent announcement in March regarding undergoing cancer treatment. Her decision to attend the service at Balmoral may indicate positive progress in her health journey. The princess has been gradually resuming her royal duties, participating in events such as the Trooping the Colour ceremony in London and presenting a championship trophy at Wimbledon.
As regular visitors to the Royal Deeside estate where Balmoral is located, Kate and William have maintained their tradition of spending summers there since their marriage in 2011. Despite health concerns, Kate’s determination to make this journey is seen as a positive sign of her recovery and resilience. The couple is believed to have also spent time at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, following Kate’s cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
