Tragic Death of Mother Due to Inability to Secure Dentist Appointment
A heartbreaking incident has recently come to light in the UK, where a mother tragically lost her life due to complications arising from a toothache. Leigh Rodgers, a 34-year-old kitchen designer at B&Q, had been suffering from a painful toothache for two weeks before the situation escalated dramatically. Tragically, Leigh suffered a rare allergic reaction to the contrast medium used during the imaging process and passed away just 90 minutes after the scan.
During the subsequent inquest on February 19, 2025, it was revealed that there was no evidence of Ludwig’s angina in the CT scan results. Leigh’s grieving mother, Pam Rodgers, believes that if her daughter had been able to secure a timely dental appointment, the need for a CT scan and the subsequent allergic reaction could have been avoided.
