Firefighters battle for three hours to bring house fire under control

Firefighters in Wales worked tirelessly for over three hours to bring a house fire under control in Dinas Powys. The incident took place at a block of four two-storey terraced properties on Caerleon Road on Tuesday night. Five crews from Penarth, Cardiff Central, Barry, Maindee, and Ely were called to the scene at 6.57pm, where they found one house fully engulfed in flames while adjacent properties were heavily smoke-logged.

Using two hose reel jets and one main jet, the firefighters battled the blaze and managed to prevent it from spreading to other properties. The teams worked efficiently and finally left the scene at 10.07pm. South Wales Police were also in attendance and confirmed that the incident was not suspicious, with no reported injuries. Photographs from the scene depict the boarded-up door of the affected property and visible fire damage on the exterior.

A spokeswoman from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service reported that crews utilized six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one main jet, one safety jet, two positive pressure ventilations, and additional specialized equipment to extinguish the fire. While adjacent properties were smoke-logged, there was no further fire spread. The police reiterated that the fire was non-suspicious and occurred around 7 pm without any reported injuries.
