Teenager in critical condition after electric motorbike and Fiat 500 collide

A teenager is in critical condition following a collision between an off-road electric motorbike and a Fiat 500 car in Fintry Drive, Dundee. The incident took place at around 7.35pm on Saturday, August 17, leaving the 16-year-old boy, who was riding the motorbike, severely injured. Paramedics attended the scene and subsequently transported him to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where medical staff described his condition as critical.

According to police reports, three off-road electric motorbikes were reportedly seen in the area prior to the crash. Authorities are now appealing for information from witnesses or individuals with dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident. The 66-year-old woman driving the Fiat 500 was unharmed in the collision.

Constable Christopher Williams stated, “Our inquiries are ongoing, and at this time we believe three off-road electric motorbikes had been seen in the area at the time shortly before the incident.” Anyone who was in the vicinity of Fintry Drive around the time of the collision is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3321 of 17 August 2024.

Following the crash, the road was closed for approximately five hours as investigations were conducted. The authorities are working diligently to gather information and determine the circumstances that led to this unfortunate accident.
