Woman, 34, named and charged with murder after man found dead

A 34-year-old woman has been named and charged with murder following the discovery of a deceased man in south-east London. Habiba Naveed stands accused of murdering 72-year-old Christopher Brown in Lewisham. The investigation revealed that the victim succumbed to blunt force trauma. Mr. Brown’s body was found at a residential address on Polsted Road in Lewisham in the early hours of Thursday, prompting the launch of a police investigation.

Naveed, a resident of Polsted Road, was arrested on suspicion of murder the same day the body was discovered and subsequently charged on Friday. She appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and has been remanded into custody. Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, leading the inquiry from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, announced that Naveed is scheduled to next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.
