Cardiff Council Unveils Plans for New Headquarters
Cardiff Council has revealed the proposed design for their new headquarters as part of a larger plan to demolish the existing County Hall building. The council aims to replace the current office with a smaller, more modern structure situated nearby. This ambitious project is a key component of the Atlantic Wharf regeneration scheme, covering over 30 acres of land. For instance, a recent repair to a leak cost the council £105,000. The proposed new headquarters will cover 100,000 square feet, significantly smaller than the current 277,000 square feet office space. Goldbeck UK, a construction company, has signed a Pre-Contract Service Agreement (PCSA) with the council to finalize the design and costs before commencing the development.
