In a bid to support small business growth in 2025, a free marketing school has been launched to provide essential tools and knowledge to entrepreneurs. Small Business Britain conducted research highlighting the key areas that 5.5 million small businesses in the UK require support with this year. The findings revealed that 71% of small business owners are keen on enhancing marketing and brand visibility, while 61% prioritize sales and customer acquisition. Additionally, almost half (49%) expressed the desire to improve their social media content and creation skills.
The initiative, a partnership between Small Business Britain and Adobe Express, aims to help small business owners enhance their marketing skills and drive sales. The program, named Small Business Britain x Adobe Express Marketing School, offers a free six-week course focusing on boosting marketing efforts and developing skills in creative design fundamentals. Through this program, up to 500 small businesses across the UK will have the opportunity to participate and benefit from expert-led workshops and hands-on demonstrations.
The Marketing School, commencing on Tuesday 25th February, will showcase the capabilities of Adobe Express, a user-friendly app enabling businesses to create professional-quality marketing materials, logos, branding assets, and printed flyers without prior design experience. The weekly interactive workshops, led by Adobe’s Senior Manager of Product, Andy Lambert, will cover practical marketing applications tailored to real-world scenarios. The sessions will also feature live case studies like Eva Thorne, the Founder of Garden of Eva, who will test the technology in action, demonstrating how Adobe Express can revolutionize marketing efforts.
Eva Thorne, a small business owner manufacturing pickles and condiments, expressed enthusiasm for the program, emphasizing the importance of marketing for small brands like hers. She highlighted the opportunity to acquire new skills and create compelling brand assets to attract potential customers. The weekly themes of the course include building a brand identity, implementing video marketing strategies, and techniques for succeeding on social media, with a focus on utilizing Adobe Express to produce captivating visuals efficiently.
Founder of Small Business Britain, Michelle Ovens CBE, stressed the significance of marketing for small businesses and the program’s role in providing entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to thrive. Claire Darley, Vice President at Adobe, reiterated the company’s commitment to empowering small business owners with accessible design tools, aiming to simplify the creative process and enable entrepreneurs to focus on business growth. Participants will also have access to a course LinkedIn group for sharing insights and networking opportunities within the small business community.
