‘Significant concerns’ warning issued to anyone who buys baby formula

The UK watchdog, Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), warns that parents and carers are overpaying for baby formula due to weak price competition. Following a study, the CMA found prices had risen by 25% in two years and that the market is highly concentrated, with two companies holding 85% of sales. The CMA will release an interim report in October with plans for further action to improve market outcomes.
