Along with Morgan, from Coedpoeth, and Sophie, from Stafford, and another friend, Brooke Varley, the group set out for a drive after Dafydd picked up Morgan from a house party. Tragically, the journey took a fatal turn when Dafydd lost control of the vehicle, leading to a collision with a tree.
During the inquest at Stafford Coroner’s Court, it was revealed that neither Sophie nor Brooke were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident on the 60mph road. Morgan, who was in the front seat, was only wearing the lap belt and shoulder strap. The inquest also disclosed that Dafydd had filmed himself expressing concerns about speeding prior to the crash, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving behaviours and the tragic consequences they can have.
