A-level results 2024: Schools in Swansea outperform the Welsh average

Swansea’s Olchfa School students surpass Wales’ A-level average with impressive results. Five students share their success stories: Harshita Rani achieved A* in design, A in maths and Welsh baccalaureate, and B in physics, heading to Cardiff University for architecture. Iolo Kennedy secured A* in maths, further maths, politics, and Welsh baccalaureate, going to Bath University for maths. Sara Iza Paez got A in Spanish and design and technology, and A* in Welsh baccalaureate for Cardiff University. Harris Perez Celorrio earned A in maths and economics, and Bs in politics and Welsh baccalaureate for economics at Cardiff University. Parsa Eskandari aims for mechanical engineering at Bristol University with top grades in maths and sciences. Swansea’s overall pass rate was above Welsh average, with many students achieving top grades. Students expressed that A-levels were challenging but rewarding. Top grades in Wales slightly decreased due to changes in grading post-pandemic. Swansea Council praised students’ achievements and thanked educators and families for support.
