Chelsea Assirati, 20, from Caerphilly, underwent a life-saving brain surgery to remove a rare brain tumour after experiencing headaches and double vision. The surgery, performed by consultant neurosurgeon George Eralil, was successful in removing the tumour. Chelsea shared her story in a documentary focusing on the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Dr. Eralil praised Chelsea’s positive attitude and emphasised the importance of ongoing monitoring for any tumour recurrence. The documentary, “Saving Lives in Cardiff,” provides a behind-the-scenes look at healthcare professionals treating patients. The series airs on BBC Two and BBC One in Wales.
