A farmer in Wales was caught operating an illegal puppy breeding business, selling various breeds online, including labradoodles, French bulldogs, and labradors. The farmer used multiple unregistered accounts on popular websites to advertise the puppies. He was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay £1,000 towards prosecution costs by Swansea Crown Court. Carmarthenshire Council, which brought the case, emphasized the importance of adhering to animal welfare regulations and protecting the wellbeing of breeding dogs and their offspring. The council conducted an investigation after receiving reports of unlicensed breeding activities. The farmer had never applied for the required dog breeding licence despite being aware of the legal requirements.
