Welsh primary school powered by natural thermal spring in UK first

Ffynnon Taf Primary School in Taff’s Well, Wales, is now the first in the UK to be powered by a natural thermal spring. The spring, one of only three in the UK along with Bath and Bedfordshire, has been used to heat the school and nearby bowls pavilion. Water from the spring, with an average temperature of 21.6C, is pumped directly into a heat pump system developed by Kensa, a heating equipment supplier. This green energy initiative has been welcomed by the local community as a unique and innovative use of the natural resource.
