A new heritage trail has launched in the Rhondda, showcasing the area’s mining history with 12 themed stations. The trail features online audio guides and stories from locals, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project’s creative director, Dr John Geraint, highlighted the trail’s importance in celebrating the region’s unique history. The trail was officially opened by RCT council leader Andrew Morgan OBE, offering a living insight into the area’s rich heritage. Councillor Ann Crimmings praised the trail as a new attraction at Rhondda Heritage Park Museum, enhancing visitors’ experience with interactive exhibitions and guided tours.
