State pensioners in Wales are set to receive a £150 payment automatically into their bank accounts as part of the Warm Home Discount scheme. The initiative aims to assist those on low incomes with energy costs. Eligible recipients will receive the one-time payment by the end of March next year, with British Gas customers receiving a credit directly to their electricity accounts. Pay As You Go meter customers will also receive the benefit, either as a meter credit or voucher. To qualify, pensioners must receive certain benefits and be a British Gas customer as of August 11, 2024.
