Cosy Club to open first restaurant in Swansea in historic building

Cosy Club, a popular restaurant brand part of the hospitality group Loungers, is set to open its first venue in Swansea at the historic Exchange Building in the city’s Maritime Quarter. This marks the brand’s third venture in Wales, alongside two existing venues in Cardiff. The new restaurant is expected to start trading in the first half of 2025, occupying 8,000 sq ft of space under a 20-year lease agreement. The Exchange Building, along with the adjoining Post House, is also undergoing development to include an 80-plus bedroom boutique hotel, overseen by The Morgans Collection, a part of investment company Swansea.com.

Swansea.com, which acquired the Exchange Building and Post House in 2009, is thrilled to announce the partnership with Cosy Club. Managing director Jacob Hughes expressed his delight in bringing the brand to Swansea and revealed plans for substantial investments in the building to facilitate the opening in mid-2025. Loungers, the parent company of Cosy Club, operates multiple brands including Lounge and Brightside, with over 270 venues across the UK. The business is currently facing a £338 million takeover bid from private equity firm Fortress Investment Group, amidst opposition from certain shareholders.
