Police officer went to house to check on child’s welfare – but she ended up being strangled

Callum Williams, 26, of Coed Efa, Wrexham, was jailed for 10 months for strangling a female police officer who was checking on a child’s welfare. The incident occurred on March 16, 2024, when Williams put his arm around the officer’s neck and gripped tightly. Williams had a suspended sentence from a previous offence and it was activated for two months along with an additional eight months for the strangulation. Detective Constable Troy Williams stated that such violence towards officers would not be tolerated.
