A “short but intense” heatwave will bring temperatures up to 33C this weekend, according to the Met Office. Warm air from Europe will cause the heat spike, with England and Wales seeing the highest temperatures. The rise in temperatures will also lead to increased pollen count and high UV levels across the country. It is advised to cover up and wear sunscreen during midday hours. The heatwave is expected to be short-lived, with temperatures returning to average levels by Tuesday.
