The National Eisteddfod in Pontypridd is hosting its first ever Muslim service, welcoming everyone. The event includes a mosque on the Maes, created through collaboration with Muslim groups and Cardiff University. The mosque is open for prayer and discussion on Welsh Muslim history and traditions, aiming to promote inclusivity. The service, amidst recent anti-Muslim protests, will feature a Welsh-language sermon for the first time, highlighting the festival’s welcoming atmosphere. The event invites all to attend jummah prayers at Y Mosg stall on August 6. Eisteddfod’s chief executive emphasises the festival’s commitment to inclusivity and community representation.
