Gaming duo meet in real life for first time ever after spending hours playing together online

Two online gaming enthusiasts who spent over 1000 hours playing video games together have finally met in real life for the first time at a gaming event in London. Bjetka Zmelikova, 25, from Prague, and Jacob Stewart, 26, who now resides in London, initially connected virtually in 2020 during an online game of Among Us. The pandemic led them to spend hours gaming together, forming a strong bond despite never meeting in person until now. Bjetka’s sister introduced her to the game, and through a discord chat dedicated to Among Us, she met Jacob. The virtual friendship became crucial for Bjetka during lockdown, providing her with much-needed support and companionship during a challenging time.

The long-awaited meeting took place at Hisense’s Game At First Sight event, where the gaming duo, along with other virtual friends, were invited to play the newly launched C2 Ultra and PX3 Pro. The event also brought together other pairs of gaming friends who had never met face-to-face, highlighting the powerful connections that can be formed through online gaming. Among the attendees were friends Luke Brewton and Edd Pearson, who had shared a gaming bond for 15 years but had never met in person until the event. Reflecting on the experience, Edd expressed his amazement at finally meeting someone who had been through life’s ups and downs with him, despite the physical distance that separated them.
