ITV’s Stephen Mulhern rushed to hospital after ‘collapsing in restaurant’

Television presenter Stephen Mulhern was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at a Pizza Express in Sunningdale, Berkshire. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 8pm, following a medical procedure earlier in the day that involved an anaesthetic. Mulhern, known for his work as a magician and author, had a few drinks after the procedure which made him unwell, leading to his hospitalisation as a precautionary measure. A spokesperson for Mulhern shared that the presenter has been going through a challenging time recently, particularly with the recent passing of his father, which has understandably been very stressful for him.

The 47-year-old presenter, who first rose to fame through hosting children’s TV programmes, including Finger Tips and Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown, has been a prominent figure on Saturday night television. Mulhern is set to appear alongside Holly Willoughby in the revival of the nostalgic game show ‘You Bet!’, which will be hitting TV screens soon. The show originally aired from 1988 to 1997 and will mark its return next month with Mulhern and Willoughby as hosts.

Holly Willoughby recently reminisced about the enjoyable moments she shared with Mulhern while filming ‘You Bet!’, highlighting their playful competition on the show. Earlier this year, Willoughby and Mulhern co-hosted ITV’s ‘Dancing On Ice’, with Mulhern stepping in to replace Phillip Schofield after he left the network due to personal reasons. Mulhern, who started his career in magic, has been a familiar face on British television for years and has garnered a loyal following.
