A police officer accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a domestic abuse victim allegedly made her feel special. The officer, Paul Higgins, is said to have pursued a romantic relationship with the woman he met through work at South Wales Police. Higgins denies the allegations and is facing trial at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court. The woman described feeling flattered by Higgins’ attention after reporting a domestic violence incident, leading to a relationship that eventually turned toxic. Higgins is also accused of accessing police computer records without authorisation and misleading investigators. The trial continues.
