A spokesperson for Parliament confirmed that both Parliamentary Security and the Met Police were actively handling the situation.

The 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene, wearing a distinctive red hooded top, following the alarming reports. The authorities took precautions by cordoning off the area as a safety measure during the arrest. The suspect was apprehended on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public space, as stated by law enforcement officials. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries during the tense situation. The Mirror reported, “We are aware of an incident outside Carriage Gates. Parliamentary Security and the Metropolitan Police are present and managing the situation.”
