Baby born in Newport Cineworld returns to meet staff who were there at birth

A heartwarming reunion took place at a Cineworld in Newport as a baby returned to meet the staff members who were present during her unexpected birth at the cinema. The family of the baby, fondly dubbed “Cinebaby” Lowri, revisited the Cineworld venue where the remarkable entrance into the world occurred back in August.

The memorable event unfolded when Sarah Vincent, who was 39 weeks pregnant at the time with a due date of August 13, accompanied by her three-year-old son Liam and her parents, decided to catch a showing of the animated film Sing 2 at Cineworld in Spytty Park. However, Sarah started experiencing discomfort shortly after the movie began and headed to the toilets. Sensing something was amiss, she called for her parents, but as she tried to make her way back to the car, her waters broke in the cinema’s foyer.

Quick to assist, Cineworld staff members sprang into action, with one of them, Andrew Brown, swiftly calling for an ambulance. Duty manager Jacey Howcroft and another member of staff, Amy Screen, also played crucial roles during the unexpected delivery. Only 10 minutes later, Lowri was born, weighing seven pounds and one ounce, catching her dad, Gareth Miles, who had rushed from work upon hearing the news, by surprise as he missed the birth itself.

This wasn’t the first time the couple’s children had entered the world in a dramatic fashion, with Liam having been born in the car while they were en route to the hospital. Reflecting on the event, Gareth humorously remarked, “I thought the car was bad enough, and we’ve got the cinema story to tell as well now!”

The heartwarming reunion between the family and the Cineworld staff took place last week, with baby Lowri being presented with a lifetime Unlimited card for the cinema. Additionally, Sarah and Gareth received a year-long Unlimited subscription, and Liam was not overlooked as he was gifted a free munchbox pass for every visit to the cinema.

The Cineworld Spytty team expressed their delight in seeing the family doing well and eagerly awaited their next visit. The extraordinary circumstances surrounding Lowri’s birth have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on both the family and the cinema staff, creating a unique bond that will be cherished for years to come.

The story of “Cinebaby” Lowri’s birth at Cineworld is a testament to the unpredictable and miraculous moments that life can bring, leaving a lasting impact that transcends the boundaries of a typical cinema experience.
