Brits into Christmas spirit as early as mid-November, research reveals

Brits are embracing the festive spirit earlier than ever, with a recent survey indicating that Christmas celebrations kick off as early as mid-November. According to research commissioned by Greene King, nearly half of the respondents (43%) believe it’s never too soon to start enjoying the holiday season.

More than a quarter (27%) of those surveyed stated that they start feeling Christmassy over six weeks before the big day, with an additional 11% pinpointing the beginning of November as the time when the festive cheer sets in. Traditionally, events such as the illumination of Christmas lights (61%) play a significant role in boosting our festive mood, the study revealed.

The survey highlighted that the airing of Christmas movies on TV (57%) and the appearance of Christmas adverts on television screens (44%) also contribute to amplifying the holiday spirit. Additionally, partaking in Christmas drinks with friends and family (40%) was noted as a major factor in enhancing the festive feel for many.

As anticipation for the holiday season grows, Greene King, a leading pub company and brewer, has announced the return of its popular festive drink, Rocking Rudolph. This seasonal ale, described as a full-bodied brew with redcurrant and blackcurrant notes, along with a hint of malted toffee, will be available throughout the festive season.

To spread even more Christmas cheer, Greene King has pledged to donate 5p (plus VAT) from every pint of Rocking Rudolph sold in their pubs to Macmillan Cancer Support. This initiative aims to support the charity in providing essential care and assistance to individuals battling cancer.

To mark the commencement of the festive countdown, Greene King has teamed up with pantomime icon Christopher Biggins to host a Rocking Rudolph celebration. Biggins expressed his joy at being part of the festivities, emphasizing the importance of coming together and relishing the spirit of the season.

Rocking Rudolph is now available in pubs across the UK and in select retailers in bottled form. For more information, visit the Greene King website.

In conclusion, the early embrace of Christmas in mid-November is a testament to the collective desire for joy and togetherness during the holiday season. With initiatives like the Rocking Rudolph charity drive, the spirit of giving and celebration is thriving, resonating with individuals eager to spread goodwill and festive cheer.
