Masked Singer UK winner unmasked on US version of show and fails to make quarter finals

‘Natalie Imbruglia, the Australian star who won the UK version of The Masked Singer in 2022, has been eliminated from the US edition of the show. Disguised as Bluebell, she failed to make it to the quarter-finals after her performance of The Contours’ Do You Love Me during a 60s-themed week. The celebrity panel, tasked with guessing the contestants’ identities, failed to identify Imbruglia correctly.

Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessed Naomi Watts, Ken Jeong suggested Rose Byrne, Robin Thicke named Isla Fisher and Rita Ora identified Kylie Minogue. The US quarter-finals now feature Buffalo, Wasp and Goo. Other celebrities unmasked this series include US actresses Laverne Cox and Yvette Nicole Brown.

This follows Imbruglia’s victory in the third series of The Masked Singer UK in 2022, where she beat Welsh singer Charlotte Church, disguised as Mushroom, to win the title. Imbruglia first gained fame in the early 1990s as Beth Brennan in the Australian soap, Neighbours.

She launched her singing career three years after leaving the show and had a global hit with her cover of Ednaswap’s song Torn. In October, 2019, Imbruglia announced the birth of her son, Max Valentine, at the age of 44, conceived with the help of IVF and a sperm donor.’
