How to donate to the 2024 WalesOnline Christmas appeal
Christmas is a time for joy, sharing, and giving, but for many families in Wales, it can be a challenging season financially. With parents and carers already feeling the pressure to provide gifts for their children, WalesOnline’s Christmas appeal aims to alleviate some of that burden and bring smiles to kids’ faces across the country.
Last year, WalesOnline partnered with Canolfan Pentre, a charity in the Rhondda Valley, to distribute over 800 gifts to local children in need. This year, the demand for presents is increasing while funding is decreasing, making your support more crucial than ever.
Requests for help from schools and support workers have come in earlier than usual, highlighting the urgency of the situation. With your donations, families can receive gifts discreetly to avoid any stigma, along with essential items like food, toiletries, and household goods.
The generosity of donors last year made a significant impact, ensuring that those most in need received the help they required. Now, WalesOnline is calling for even more support to make this Christmas appeal the most successful yet.
There are two main ways to contribute:
1. Purchase an item from the Amazon wishlist and have it sent directly to WalesOnline.
2. Bring new, unopened items to the WalesOnline office in Cardiff, where they will be passed on to Canolfan Pentre for distribution.
Your contributions, whether big or small, can make a difference in brightening up someone’s Christmas. Let’s come together to make 2024 a memorable and joyful holiday season for all in Wales.
Thank you in advance for your support, and let’s make this year’s Christmas appeal the most impactful one yet.
