Police searching for missing man issue update on boat recovered from sea

Dyfed-Powys Police have released an update on their search for missing man Chris Ellery, who disappeared after embarking on a solo boat trip in Fishguard. The 54-year-old, hailing from Bristol, was last spotted on Wednesday leaving Fishguard harbour on a rigid inflatable boat (RHIB). Concerns arose when he did not return home as planned on Thursday afternoon, prompting his family to alert the authorities.

CCTV footage captured Ellery leaving the harbour, but his whereabouts remain unknown. Over the weekend, a boat was found near Abermawr Beach by HM Coastguard, although it was confirmed not to be Ellery’s. The police have been conducting searches for any leads or information that could assist in locating the missing man.

Ellery’s daughter expressed that the family became worried when he did not return, and some of his belongings were discovered in a cove accessible only by boat. An AirTag indicated his last known location was at sea. The police urge anyone with relevant details to reach out through various channels, including social media, email, or phone.
